The little red Hen! Un conte per treballar valors i llengua anglesa

Once upon a time, a cat and a dog and a mouse and a little red hen all lived together in a little house.
The cat liked to sleep all day on the soft couch. The dog liked to nap all day on the sunny back porch. And the mouse liked to snooze all day in the warm chair by the fireside.
So, the little red hen had to do all the housework:
She cooked the meals and washed the dishes and made the beds.
She swept the floor and washed the windows and mended the clothes. She raked the leaves and mowed the grass and hoed the garden.
One day, when she was hoeing the garden she found some grains of wheat.
- Who will plant this wheat? - cried the little red hen.
- Not I - said the cat.
- Not I - said the dog.
- Not I - said the mouse.
- Then I will - said the hen. And she did.
Each morning, the little red hen watered the wheat and pulled the weeds.
Soon the wheat pushed through the ground and began to grow up. When the wheat was ripe, the little red hen asked,
- Who will cut this wheat?
- Not I - said the cat.
- Not I - said the dog.
- Not I - said the mouse.
- Then I will - said the hen. And she did.
When the wheat was all cut, the little red hen asked,
- Now, who will take this wheat to the mill to be ground into flour?
- Not I - said the cat.
- Not I - said the dog.
- Not I - said the mouse.
- Then I will - said the hen. And she did.
The little hen returned from the mill carrying a small bag of fine white flour.
- Who will make a cake from this fine white flour? - asked the litlle red hen.
- Not I - said the cat.
- Not I - said the dog.
- Not I - said the mouse.
- Then I will - said the hen. And she did.
She gathered sticks and made a fire in the stove. Then she took milk and sugar and eggs and butter and mixed them in a big bowl with the fine white flour.
When the oven was hot she poured the cake batter into a pan and put it in the over.
Soon, a delicious smell filled the little house. The cat got off the soft sofa and came into the kitchen. The dog got up from the sunny back porch and came into the kitchen. The mouse jumped down from his warm chair and came into the kitchen.
The little red hen was just taking a beautiful cake out of the oven.
- Who will eat this cake? - asked the little red hen.
- I will! - cried the cat.
- I will! - cried the dog.
- I will! - cried the mouse.
But the little red hen said,
- All by myself! I planted the wheat, I watered the wheat, I cut the wheat, I took the wheat to the mill to be ground into flour. All by myself! I gathered the sticks, I built the fire, I mixed the cake and I cooked it! All by myself and I am going to eat it!!!! And so she did, to the very last crumb!
After that, whenever there was work to be done, the little red hen had three helpers.

A casa i des de fa molts anys, l’únic xarop que prenem és el xarop de ceba. Quan el Saül tenia 5 anys (ara en té 18), va agafar una mena de bronquitis que no se li curava de cap manera. El seu metge de capçalera ja li havia canviat el xarop per tercera vegada i jo encara duia la recepta a les mans perquè no gosava comprar el nou xarop. Tenia una mena de basarda perquè el meu fill no millorava i ja feia massa temps que li durava aquella tos tan lletja i aquells pitos al pit que no el deixaven respirar bé. Abans de comprar-li un nou xarop, necessitava una altra opinió de manera que en arribar a l’escola vaig esperar la Matilde, una metgessa que duia els seus fills a l’escola on jo treballava. Els fruiters de casa: La noguera

Aquesta entrada, en principi, era per parlar dels fruiters i, en concret, de la noguera o el noguer perquè ja s'acosta el moment de recollir-ne els seus fruits: les nous. L'altre dia vam fer fotografies a les nous de casa car estan començant a arrugar la pell que cobreix la closca i aviat s'obrirà però vam trobar-hi un inquilí que ens ha fet virar una mica el tema perquè a l'Henoch i el Pau, de moment, els ha interessat més que el dels fruiters que ja l'anirem treballant, al llarg d'aquests dies, perquè ambdós es poden lligar. El que havia de ser doncs, l'estudi de les nous i dels fruits, s'ha convertit en l'elaboració d'un conte i en un treball, posterior, sobre els contes i les faules i sobre les llagostes i les cigales. També estem aprofitant l'ocasió per treballar la llengua anglesa a través de la faula de  La cigala i la formiga . Joc de pistes: un recurs didàctic i interdisciplinari!

A casa, sempre hem fet jocs de pistes perquè em permeten treballar amb els nens diferents continguts acadèmics de manera divertida i molt engrescadora, a més, el fet de seguir les pistes per trobar el "tresor amagat", fa que s'ho prenguin amb molta il·lusió i emoció! Quan eren més petits i treballàvem el procés de lecto-escriptura, m'anava molt bé perquè, inconscientment s'esforçaven més per aprendre a llegir per tal de poder desxifrar els missatges que els pistaven per a arribar a l'objectiu final: el tresor amagat! Ara, que ja llegeixen amb força fluïdesa, he afegit l'endevinalla per anar més enllà doncs l'endevinalla és un recurs didàctic que permet treballar aspectes de l'àrea de llengua (lectura, comprensió lectora, versificació, recursos poètics -comparació, metàfora-, dicció,...) però també aspectes d'altres àrees com ara coneixement del medi social i natural, matemàtiques,... perquè són composicions curtes i generalment en vers, que
